The Poet Who Can’t Be Stopped - The Brilliant Roger McGough

Arriving in sunny Norwich on Saturday afternoon excitement and electricity hung in the air. It was clear that the genius Roger McGough had arrived. With the former Rock God and OBE recognised poet having landed, the Norwich Playhouse theatre started to pack out leaving no seat empty.

His “Alive and Gigging” tour had the audience following his every word, from the fits of laughter from his brilliantly interwoven anecdotes and life based poetry to the hard hitting revelations of old age and the intrusive feelings it draws up from the depths. His loyal fans showered their praises and I can’t help but feel that every person who left that auditorium had been profoundly touched in a way you can’t forget.

If you have not already bought tickets, this is the tour you cannot miss.

“Maybe the god of poetry roulette was smiling on us, but they were all excellent: sardonically funny, playfully surreal, gently poignant.” Susan Mansfield
