The son of a Bangalorean mother and a Bristolean father of Irish ancestry, Robin is a mixed race, neurodivergent fiction writer, poet and children’s writer.
His novel Coyote is an historical fiction, a subversion of the western genre with aspects of magic realism, published by Lucent Dreaming. It covers themes of personal, racial, and geographical identity and the human urge to dominate and other, through invasion and colonisation. It is also, in a sense, a personal fable.
Writing as Robin Knight, his poetry and fiction has appeared in journals and anthologies worldwide, including The North, Poetry Wales, The American Journal of Poetry and the Bangalore Review.
He has written for Psychologies and True West magazines and co-authored Sussex Folk Tales for Children (The History Press) with his wife, Xanthe Gresham-Knight.
Coyote was longlisted for The Electric Book Award 2023. Robin’s poetry has been acknowledged by: The Arts & Letters Rumi Prize 2023 (Finalist), The Gloucester Poetry Competition 2022 (Shortlisted), The National Poetry Competition 2015 & 2017 (Longlisted) and others.
