Anna Leplar is an illustrator and writer of children’s books. She was born in Iceland but lived and studied in England where she graduated from the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art in Oxford.
For many years she was Head of the Illustration Department at the Reykjavik School of Visual Arts in Iceland which she helped to create. Her greatest pleasure was in introducing students to the world of illustration and sharing her endless love of drawing. After leaving she has been spending time concentrating on her career as an illustrator.
Anna has illustrated children’s fiction, non-fiction, classics, anthologies and created posters for many publishing houses both in Iceland and the UK. She leads workshops for children and adults in schools and colleges and at the National Gallery of Iceland.
